VAN HALEN: 'The Whole Truth: Howard Stern' Special To Air Tomorrow

According to the unofficial VAN HALEN web site Van Halen News Desk, A special called "The Whole Truth: The Howard Stern/Van Halen Special" — which is basically a five-hour uncensored history of VAN HALEN on "The Howard Stern Show"… the good, the bad and the ugly — will air tomorrow (Tuesday, February 7) to coincide with the release of the band's new album, "A Different Kind Of Truth".

Stern's team pulled a variety of appearances from the different bandmembers over the years to really get a sense of the up-and-down history of the group and the back-and-forth bickering, resulting in an oral history as told through the bandmembers themselves.

All members of the VAN HALEN family tree are included in the show, with the exception of bassist Wolfgang Van Halen.

The Van Halen News Desk advises that the band's new music is NOT included in the program; the show has been created for longtime VAN HALEN fans who like Stern and want to relive the band's past dramas.

"The Whole Truth: The Howard Stern/Van Halen Special" airs Tuesday February 7 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern (11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pacific) on SiriusXM/Howard 101.

As previously reported, VAN HALEN played an hour-long secret show on Wednesday night (February 1) at Henson Studios in Hollywood, California. The audience of about 250 attendees saw the band perform three songs from its new album, "A Different Kind Of Truth", including "She's The Woman", "The Trouble With Never" and first single "Tattoo", as well as a brace of classics like "You Really Got Me", "Runnin' With The Devil", "Unchained" and "Dance The Night Away". The show served as a launch party for the record, as well as a warm-up for the band's tour, which kicks off on February 18 in Louisville, Kentucky.

The encore of "Jump" featured an eight-person drum line and a dozen Vegas showgirls that led the crowd out at the end of the song.

"A Different Kind Of Truth" is VAN HALEN's first album with original singer David Lee Roth in 28 years.

Roth told the Los Angeles Times that the band has gone back into its archives to find previously unreleased material upon which to build the record, saying, "It's material that Eddie [Van Halen, guitar] and I generated, literally, in 1975, 1976 and 1977."
